African Girls Empowerment Network (AGE Network) was established in October 2015 as a Charity/Community Based Group with the primary focus on ending child marriage and advancing gender equality in girls’ education, promoting women’s good health, Leadership, and economic inclusion in Africa for a Fairer Future. AGE Network now holds a Consultative Status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is the lead organization and secretariat of the Belle by Choice Movement and the Moment for Women Alliance.

The Belle by Choice Movement is a collective of women- and girls-led focus groups in Nigeria dedicated to reducing unwanted pregnancies, addressing maternal mortality (512 deaths per 100,000 live births), and combating gender-based violence, including rape, intimate partner violence, and child marriage. With 2.5 million cases of unwanted pregnancies reported annually and 30% of women in Nigeria unable to access modern contraception, the movement advocates for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), community education, and policy reforms. By promoting informed reproductive choices and engaging men and boys as allies, the movement aims to create safer, healthier, and more equitable communities for women and girls in Nigeria.

The Task type for this role is community based and highly competitive.

Position Overview

The Belle by Choice Movement is looking for passionate Online Volunteers to join our team and help recruit and coordinate members in Nigeria. This movement is a collective of women’s and girls’- led focus groups dedicated to advancing sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Volunteers will work closely with the project team to grow the movement and drive impactful campaigns.

Volunteer Job Description

The Volunteers will support in Member Recruitment and coordination by

  • Identifying and engaging individuals and organizations aligned with the movement’s goals;
  • Onboard new members especially within grassroots and women-led groups.

Volunteer Qualification

Passion for gender equality and SRHR advocacy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with online tools and social media platforms.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prior experience in community engagement or advocacy (preferred but not required).
